The short version: this website counts visits with Google Analytics if you say yes, uses no ads, and never sells anything about you. Here are the details, in plain language.

Who runs this site
GhostGram Labs is not a company — it's the name an independent developer publishes free Android side projects under. You can reach me anytime at ghostgramlabs@gmail.com.
What this website collects
If you press "Sure, count me" on the cookie banner, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it's being used. That means Google collects, on my behalf:
- Which pages you visit and how you arrived (e.g., from a Google search)
- Your approximate location (country and city, estimated from your IP address — never your exact position)
- Your device and browser type
I see this data only in aggregate ("120 visitors this week, mostly from India and the US") — I cannot identify you personally, and I don't try to.
If you press "No thanks", Google Analytics does not set cookies and your visit is not tracked. The site works exactly the same either way.
Cookies
With your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell returning visitors apart from new ones. Your consent choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage — that's a setting on your device, not a tracking cookie. No advertising cookies are used, ever.
What this website does NOT do
- No ads, no ad networks, no remarketing
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone besides Google Analytics processing described above
- No accounts, no forms, no newsletter — this site doesn't even have a way to ask for your name
Third-party services
Google Analytics processes visit data as described above (see Google's Privacy Policy). Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, then deleted. Google Fonts serves this site's typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers (your IP address is visible to Google in that request, as with any web resource). The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log requests for security and operations (see GitHub's Privacy Statement).
Weather effect: to show weather on the page matching your local sky, your browser asks a free geolocation service (geojs.io, ipwho.is or ipapi.co — whichever answers first) for your approximate location (estimated from your IP address), then asks Open-Meteo for the current weather there. This happens in your browser, is used only to pick the animation, and nothing about it is stored by this site. If the requests fail or are blocked, the page simply shows its default animation. If you tap "use my exact spot" on the weather note, your browser asks your permission and shares your device location once, only to refresh the weather animation — it is sent only to Open-Meteo and never stored.
Your choices and rights
- Change your cookie choice — this reopens the consent banner
- Block analytics entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's tracking protection
- If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or a region with similar laws: you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Since I can't identify individual visitors in the aggregate data, the practical route is to email me at ghostgramlabs@gmail.com and I'll do everything I can to help.
